fancy that we have a cat!

Yes our black feline friend came back again last night...

She turned up at the back door just before 11pm. I rang our Cats protection lady who said to keep her in and she would come this morning with a scanner?! to check and she if she is microchipped. She cannot be here until 10 though so we are having to keep her in. At the moment she is curled up asleep on the sofa, although earlier she wanted to go out. Roll on 10 oclock as i am slightly concerned as a good friend is coming down to stay with us this weekend who is allergic to cats, so i will need to hoover and air the house before she gets here.

The girls are enjoying this whole experience and it really has made us realise that we would love to give a home to our friends kittens when they are old enough to leave their mother. R really loves cats and they always purr the loudest for him. Our recent concern has been that he seems to have developed an allergy in recent years although our feline guest has not affected him as yet.

Cute as this cat is i am certain that she has a home somewhere. She is very glossy and looks well cared for. Cats are fickle and there is a lovely story of a cat who has 6 homes on one street in a row of terraces where the neighbours don't speak to each other and each family thinks that the cat is theirs. It is called 'six dinner Sid' and is written by Inga Moore and i have found a lovely review of it here. The thing is .... the cat in our house looks a bit like six dinner Sid... i wonder?!!!

He is a lovely looking cat. I got my cat as a kitten from cats protection in September last year. They don't stay at the kitten stage for long though! He is a great big heavy ginger boy with the fluffiest tail. He stays out all day long and I am now wondering whether or not somebody else is feeding him too!!!

Six Dinner Sid is a fantastic book - one of our favourites.
My Mum's cat - a very fat sleek long haired puss - has a few homes.
Our first 2 cats were rescue cats, our youngest was from asemi-feral litter at the end of the road.
All have been fantastic - if you do get a kitten, encourage your girls to handle them from the day dot and they will turn into the kind of cats that like to be carted about.
Even our big butch semi-feral Minou will happily be carried about in a blanket when he is required for a game

The other thing you might want to consider doing to find out if he does have a home is put a collar on him with a massage attached.

I love your new feline friend Ginny..
Six Dinner Sid is one of our family's favourite books along with The Mousehole Cat..
We are convinced that our tabby boy has other 'staff' in the neighbourhood.. he disappears all day and comes back to hoover up his food before vanishing for the next few hours. I would love to know where he goes during the day..
I do hope you find our where the cat comes from..I get so upset when cats go astray or go missing!

The naughty black cat I was thinking of is Slinky Malinki. How did it go with the cat protection lady? When Nick and I got Doughnut & Pilchard the lady that came to see us was all stuff and nonsense and when Nick said that I was already knitting booties and mittens for them she gave him a severe stare and told us both that cats were not replacement babies! (of course they were until Osk came along). Has R had to return the cat litter or do you now have to invest in a pooper scooper?

Every home needs a cat.

In my opinion.

As the (willing) slave of four.

I hope you get a cat all of your own soon Ginny - actually I have one called Tiger-Lily you can have anytime, though she does rip carpets, chew furniture and generally make a nuisance of herself! No, ah well... xx

He is a very pretty cat...glad he did not come to my place because I would probably not want to give him up. I love kitties. Maybe he just likes you house and family and wants to stay :)

What a beautiful cat, I can see how she instantly charmed you all. I have read the review for Six Dinner Sid, it reminds me so much of the lovable cat known as Socks to us, that used to visit and then mysteriously disappeared? It would be fed with tidbits of tuna and often stopped me from gardening to sit on my lap for a nap! x
