and thank you for all your support and friendship during this past year.

I have decided to close this blog on the last day of 2008. I have a couple more things to share with you so will hopefully post a few more times.

I would also like to do a final giveaway, so if you would like to be entered into the draw please leave a comment before the 30th December sharing with us the funniest Christmas present you have ever received .

I hope that you all have a wonderful and peaceful holiday with those you love.

with warmest wishes

Oh .. well .. I am not sure if you are leaving us for good Ginny.. I do hope not. I for one will miss your inspirational and hugely enjoyable blog.
Well funniest present you say.. not sure about funniest but most unexpected was a floor mop.. I still to this day don't know if it was a joke.
Every year my beloved man gives me some lingerie and every year I queue up in at the customer services desk at M & S to explain that my 36DD bra is more wishful thinking on my beloved's part and please could I exchange it for a 36B!
Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas Ginny..

Sad news Ginny as I have really enjoyed your blog but understand that life carries you forward & things change but will miss your post & the inspiration they bring.
Funniest present I ever recieved was a used eyeshadow set from a cheapskate aunt who had decided she didnt like the colour so passed it on to her niece! take Care and keep in touch Rachellex

Hope that doesn't mean you'll be vanishing from blogging altogether, I'd miss you.
A dreadful pink and white nylon knitted hat was the worst present I ever got, a shame as it had obviously taken a while to knit.

such a shame that you are closing your blog, I have so loved lurking and learning - as for christmas presents, well the plastic necklace and earrings set (not pretty plastic but childrens dressing up plastic) from my mother in law last year was a particular high point for me. As for giving the best present, 9 years ago I woke up my husband on Christmas morning with a 'happy Christmas Daddy' having done a positive pregnancy test at 4 in the morning after much trying and not suceeding - I've got to say there wasn't and isn't anything that could have topped that one for us. Anyway, wishing you a wonderful rest of the year and an amazing 2009. Janette xx

I am sad that you are stopping this blog as I get so much pleasure from popping over. I will have to see you at Sweet Myrtle instead! The 'funniest' Christmas present I ever received was a frozen Turkey as a present from my boss on Christmas eve!!!

Hello Ginny,
just popping by to wish you a wonderful holiday with your family. I am sorry that you are planning to shut the door of the Flour Loft but quite understand that you feel it is time to move on. Thank you for all the pleasure that I have had reading about your projects and your artistic collaboration with Alice.
All the very best for the future

I once got a pair of grey nylon tights when I was about 13 but Ben has to have had the best present of all - when he was around 15 he got a plastic soldiers helmet from Uncle Harry and Auntie Margaret (I think they got the labels mixed up). Perhaps thats why he opts out now! Oh and now I recall, the first year that Nick and I were together I thought the large box he presented me with was full of lovely goodies like lingerie, clothes or jewells and instead it contained a Wok???!!! Mind you, it has had a lot of use so maybe not really a crap present. Oh and this year, Mum and Dad gave nick a huge huge bag of kindling wood. Mmmm.
How was yesterday?

Hi Ginny, hope you've had a lovely couple of days, and you all enjoyed yesterday's entertainment and performances. I can't think of funny or dire presents I've received, but I do remember one year (early teens) giving my father a boxof slug pellets. Strangely he was quite pleased! Looking for ward to seeing you on tuesday.
Love Diana xx

One of the funniest presents I ever received was from my husband - it was a wooden box with a bag of marbles in...think it may have been a kinder way of telling me he thought I was losing my mind!!Sue.x

I nearly forgot..
My funniest present was a pack of foil- wrapped mini chocolate Santas,..except that when they were opened and the foil removed, they were actually chocolate Easter Bunnies. It gave us all a laugh,I can tell you!
