taking a break...

Today I am taking a break from working and I am cleaning. I have to be in the house for a parcel to be collected so cannot work in the garden workshop as I may miss the doorbell.

Time is so precious work wise at the moment and when the girls are at school and I feel like I have to and need to work at 100% capacity, thus leaving the housework and general home duties to one side. Alas at times I look around and see the build up of clutter and dust. Today I thought, enough is enough, so as I have to be in the house, I have donned my cleaning apron and with dusters in hand and broom and hoover to the ready I am gradually working my way around the house. I know that once completed I shall have renewed energy too and a better environment in which to return to my work. Having cats and a husband with a slight allergy to them means that I need to keep on top of the cat hair situation. I am also washing their bedding today and have the nets down for a pre Christmas clean.

I have really enjoyed visiting many of your blogs this week and to share all your wonderful Christmas preparations. Mine are a little slow but I now have a list!! hurrah!
My camera battery in flat so no pictures of my cleaning fest for you but I will leave you with some links.

My friend Annie who gave me this beautiful blue tit now has a website here. The birds are amazing as are her dolls. Please go check it out.

I have really enjoyed Nicky's festive pictures today and she has a competition coming up at the end of the week which I suspect will have a fabulous prize as her work is stunning.

Karon at Dream Acres is holding a giveaway too... lots of lovely scented goodies offered to a lucky person.

All this talk of giveaways makes me want to do one too. Pop back soon and I shall try to rustle one up.....

Have a great day whether cleaning, sewing, working or relaxing.

I did similar last Thursday, you seem to put up with the clutter for a certain period of time and then all of a sudden...out of your body appears Mrs Mop!!
I love visiting peoples Blogs, but boy, isn't it soooo time consuming!! x

Cats do seem to shed so much fur….sometimes it’s good to get those domestic chores out of the way so you can concentrate on doing the nice things – like sewing without guilt.

Hello Ginny. I seem to have the cleaning bug too. I think you're right about the desperate need to grab work time where possible at the detriment of all else. I am finding that I clean like a mad thing and it keeps me feeling in control! Hopefully meeting up with Diana for mince pies tomorrow and getting to meet Walter too...hurray! Wish you were there too but we'll eat some pies and toast you nonetheless lovely lady xxx

must be something in the air, I had a full day of it yesterday - I mean really tackling those things I was putting off ..dundundun! (dramatic music)...the venetian blinds... ARGH!.. also washed the hearth stone. Was in my cleaning fleece until 4pmish, and then had a hot bath. Still a bit to do, it feels important to do it all before the years out! Cxx

as it happens I had a cleaning day today too....well it started as a cleaning day but what with the phone, people calling in and a quick trip to shop for much needed food I didn't really get that much done and now Little Dorrit is starting so I might call it a day as far as cleaning goes and see what tomorrow brings!!!!

Hi Ginny,
I too have to stay indoors when expecting a parcel,I'm thinking of installing one of those industrial sized bells to the front door so as I can hear it from the Little wren house in the garden, but don't think it would go down too well with the neighbours .....:)
Thank you for putting a link to my website, your a sweetie. Good luck with your preperations,Love and Best Wishes from Annie x

Oh I need to catch up on some housework too, but I want to do some sewing today, so I may just ignore it for a while longer!

We have snow and more on its way, so I have to get outside with my camera as soon as it stops...

Hope you're reading this in a very clean and tidy house after all your efforts. Was the parcel worth waiting in for?
You must show us a picture of your workshop sometime, I bet it's an Aladdins cave of lovely buttons and ribbons, fabrics etc...all the things that would make many of us hyper-ventilate!!!!!

I think our postman thinks that I never leave the house as I am always in.. lurking in the darkest depth of the house .. slaving over a hot kitchen table and badge machine...
